"The soothing waterside view, friendly atmosphere, and splendid menu make for a memorable experience. This is a family affair: in summer, up to five Andersons are working. Chef-owner Steven Anderson prepares a rotating menu of dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Try the mushroom saute appetizer with artichoke hearts and warm goat cheese. Entrees include seafood, steaks and lamb chops with unfussy sides."

"Just to the right as you get off the ferry, and housed in a small wooden building that was once part of a U.S. Coast Guard station, The Place is the island's finest waterfront restaurant. The menu changes regularly, but one of my favorite dishes -- baked oysters with hazelnut-garlic butter -- is almost always available. Looking for something else? Try the Pacific Rim bouillabaisse.
